The pioneering team at Mondelēz International (formally Cadbury’s) R&D division based in Bournville, Birmingham wanted to create a smart and green office that embraced the concept of a modern, healthy and sustainable workspace. Their office, refurbishment presented an opportunity to provide staff and visitors with an environment that promoted well-being and enhanced creative thinking. They aspired to create an optimum workspace that lowered their carbon emissions and set the standard for future office refurbishments across the company.
We worked with building design consultants and a specialist LED lighting designer to provide a high impact and aesthetically pleasing design including a low voltage emergency lighting system. A variety of LED light fittings were installed, running on data cables that facilitated daylight harvesting and provided significant energy savings. Some areas incorporated coloured LED technology, a first in the UK, enabling us to achieve a bespoke user experience. The project successfully achieved the lighting designers vision that dramatically enhanced the space and the ambience of the office while being greener and operating sustainably.
Installing our intelligent lighting system was the ideal choice to compliment a contemporary office design for a forward-thinking R&D team. The system delivered a visually dynamic design that focused on staff well-being. It incorporated a low energy LED lighting solution, which has since proved to be a vital component of the Mondelēz International facility. The additional benefits of the system provide the management team with real-time statistical data. This information enables the team to monitor their energy levels directly and measures the impact of daylight harvestings across the space.
